People are wondering what to do with the Burmese people after they gain their freedom...First of all we are not gaining their freedom for them..they are...all the global civil society is doing is providing a "check and balance" role that states under totalitarian rule do not have. They will take care of what needs to be taken of within their state...we don't have to micromanage them. That is why I don't advocate dismantling their military infrastructure the way we did in Iraq, with disastrous consequences, or the political component of their regime that is behind the ruling junta right now...they too have valid aspirations for their country and will play a role in their country to check the new powers that will rise. Our role is simply to stem the hand of the TYRANT..and umper as even a playing field as possible...
