Desperate Housewives Filipino Slur: Creative Restitution

Desperate Housewives Filipino slur;

Stereo-typing for laughs is not new but is specially hurtful when;

1. Not one iota of truth to it. The Philippines boasts a literacy rate equal to the US at 98% despite its destitution, a tragic puzzle

Stereo-typing for laughs is not new..and never right... but is specially hurtful when;

1. Not one iota of truth to it. The Philippines boasts a literacy rate equal to the US at 98% despite its destitution, a tragic puzzle

2. Considering that it stood by and protected American GIs from the Japanese during WWII, to the extent of getting whole villages massacred for hiding and not "ratting out" American GIs.

3. Considering irony of its impoverished state and Japan's wealth.

I suggest getting our own more educated and informed

Apart from an apology, I suggest a character talking about WWII experiences and flashbacks of what Filipinos did for him...that is a creative way of making up for the slur...g and not "ratting out" American GIs.

3. Considering irony of its impoverished state and Japan's wealth.

Creative restitution for writers, producer, and network of this ill-informed show can write a storyline around a character having flashbacks of WWII and how a whole village in the Philippines was massacred because it refused to tell the Japanese where he was. The guilt that the world never heard about this heroic act and people was agonizing for him as he approaches the end of his life...
